Bob Arum is looking for opponents to step up and challenge his young heavyweight contender Jared Anderson
Jared Anderson has just secured his latest win this past weekend but it was not his best showing. The man who has knocked out all of his opponents, but for Charles Martin, was forced to go the distance again against an unambitious Ryad Merhy, who managed to stay out of the way of ‘The Real Big Baby’s’ power shots.
It has been suggested that maybe some of the issues out of the ring are what have kept Anderson from being at his explosive best given that he has been arrested more than once on gun charges and most recently for improperly handling firearms in a vehicle he was operating while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
In a new post on X, Arum made the call for anyone who thinks they can beat his man to come and reveal themselves.
“We’re looking for a heavyweight who thinks he can actually beat Jared Anderson. We need someone brave enough to get in the ring with Jared and give him a real battle. There’s no one he would be reluctant to fight at this point.”
Names like Luis Ortiz, Dillian Whyte and Derek Chisora have all been mentioned by fans and would represent good step-ups for Anderson at this stage of his career.
