Key points:
- Chris Billam-Smith (22-2, 14 KOs) fights Cheavon Clarke (12-2, 9 KOs) in a 10-round cruiserweight fight on Saturday, November 7, at the Copper Box Arena in London, headlining Zuffa Boxing 12
- Clarke beat Billam-Smith in the 2016 ABA 91kg final and twice as an amateur
- Billam-Smith, 36, lost the WBO title to Gilberto Ramírez in Riyadh in November 2024, and hopes this leads to another world title shot
- Clarke, 35, a Tokyo Olympian and former British champion, climbed off the canvas twice to stop Jack Massey in June
Chris Billam-Smith gets a chance to settle a score from 2016.
“I beat him twice [as an amateur], but I haven’t got any hook-ups on it,” Clarke told Sky Sports. “Billam-Smith is notoriously tough, but boxing is not a game to be tough. It’s not a tough person’s sport. It’s a smart person’s sport, so we’ll see.” Billam-Smith finds the amateur fight “hard to watch”.
