Jared Anderson forced to withdraw from Solomon Dacres fight
American Jared Anderson (18-1, 15 KOs) has been forced to withdraw from his May 9 fight with British boxer Solomon Dacres (10-1, 3 KOs) in Manchester.
‘The Real Big Baby’, 26 from Ohio, tore his bicep in training, instantly thwarting any chance of competing this weekend on the undercard of Fabio Wardley vs Daniel Dubois.
Dacres, 32 from Warley in the West Midlands, is a former English heavyweight champion. ‘The Meal Deal’ turned pro with an amateur record of 35–10.
Both Dacres and Anderson have just a single defeat on their records, so their matchup would have been intriguing.
Dacres was defeated for his English title by future British champion David Adeleye, and Anderson was surprised by Martin Bakole in 2024 when he was stopped in the fifth round of their WBO International and WBC-NABF heavyweight title fight.
DID YOU KNOW? Jared Anderson won the U.S. National Championships two years in a row in 2017 and 2018.
