Albert Ramirez vs Adam Deines postponed
A heartbreaking turn of events for Albert Ramirez, who, after fracturing his hand during training last week, will have to postpone his WBO light-heavyweight title eliminator against world contender Adam Deines initially scheduled this Saturday, May 25, at the Centre Gervais Auto in Shawinigan.
Eye of the Tiger assures that the quality of the event will not be greatly affected due to the depth of the card, which will now feature eight fights.
Headlining the event, WBC’s #1 world contender, Christian ‘Solide’ Mbilli (26-0, 22 KOs), will take on the powerful English slugger Mark ‘Kid Dynamite’ Heffron (30-3-1, 24 KOs).
In the co-main event, the giant known as the ‘Lion’, Arslanbek Makhmudov (18-1, 17 KOs), will look to put his previous defeat and right hand injury behind him as he faces Serbian champion Miljan Rovcanin (27-3, 18 KOs).
Additionally, Mehmet Unal (9-0, 7 KOs) will engage in a 10-round bout against the surprising American brawler Rodolfo Gomez Jr (14-7-3, 10 KOs).
On the undercard, the future of Quebec boxing takes center stage. EOTTM’s 2023 Rookie of the Year, Wilkens Mathieu (8-0, 5 KOs), will face Polish veteran Przemyslaw Gorgon (17-12-2, 6 KOs).
Montreal’s Christopher Guerrero (10-0, 5 KOs) will square off against American Kenny Larson (7-1-1, 5 KOs).
‘The Soldier’, Moreno Fendero (5-0, 4 KOs), will take on the resilient Argentinian Rolando Mansilla (19-14-1, 9 KOs). The pride of Buckingham, Alexandre Gaumont (10-0, 7 KOs), will clash with Buenos Aires’ own Santiago Fernandez (8-0-1, 4 KOs) in a battle of undefeated boxers.
Lastly, in the opening bout, the powerful, swift, and explosive Jhon Orobio (8-0, 8 KOs) will seek to maintain his flawless record against the tough Alexis Camejo (8-2-2, 1 KO).
Tickets are still available through the Ovation network. The event will also be broadcast live starting at 7pm on Punching Grace and ESPN+.
Ramirez-Deines will be rearranged for a later date.
