Agron Smakici speaks out about the infamous sparring session with Tyson Fury that caused the first fight date with Oleksandr Usyk to be cancelled
The villain, the bogeyman himself, Agron Smakići – Tyson’s Fury’s Sparring partner who caused Tyson to pull out of the initial first fight with Usyk – has finally spoken out ahead of the highly anticipated ‘’Ring of Fire’’ bout tomorrow night.
Speaking to Best Anonymous Casinos, Smakici said: “100 percent, the cut I gave Fury will work in his favour, he needed more time to prepare for Usyk. The cut was a good thing for him because the Francis Ngannou fight wasn’t that long ago and he was going too fast into the next fight.
“He was too fat, not in shape, and was trying to get into shape too quickly. He needed more time, so everything happens for a reason. When you’re out of shape like that, you need four or five months and do it step by step. He also had the flu, he had colds and pain – he will thank me for the extra time he’s had to prepare.”
“He’s had much more time to prepare for Usyk and he’s got a 50 percent better chance of beating Usyk because I cut him. He will be a 100 percent stronger fighter.”
“I believe Fury can beat Usyk if he comes with the same hunger he had against Wilder. If he wins the fight Tyson should give me a call to thank me, he should thank me first of all because I gave him great rounds, but mainly because the cut I gave him, it gave him more time to take Usyk seriously. He’s going to thank me, believe me.”
The six-foot-six southpaw from Zagreb then lifted the lid on what actually happened during that infamous sparring session back in February, just two weeks from the original fight date, “Fury was fighting dirty and he was talking trash, he tried to manipulate my head and push my head down into his lower body, so he got what he deserved.
“It was very disrespectful, I’m not a child and it made me angry, so I fired some rockets and he was cut. But I don’t think the cut will open up in the fight, Usyk is not a puncher like Wilder or Joshua, so no-way it opens it up.”
