John Fury and Carl Froch continue ongoing row
The war of words between Carl Froch and John Fury continues to escalate and now Fury has challenged the former world champion to a fight at Wembley Stadium.
This all started when Froch began to question the quality of Tyson Fury’s resume. He claimed that WBC heavyweight king’s best win was against an old fighter in Wladimir Klitschko, and that his wins against Deontay Wilder now looked less flattering following Joseph Parker comprehensively beating the American on points back in December.
In a video posted by Roman Fury and shared by Michael Benson on X, John has now escalated this beyond words and wants a real fight at Wembley Stadium, which is of course the site of Froch’s greatest and final night of boxing when he knocked out George Groves in front of 80, 000 people in 2014.
“Ok, video to Carl The Snake Froch,” John fury began. “You’re having plenty to say mate on your podcast channel. John Fury’s rung the bell for you again, got you plenty of content, got you plenty of viewing figures that you were after.
“Listen, your mate George Groves said something very interesting. You and me, Wembley Stadium, 93,000 crowd. I’m up for that my friend. You’ve had plenty to say. I have. I stand by every word that I’ve said.
“You don’t like me. Let’s see what you can do what about it. Hater versus Top Father – that’s what we’ll call this. But, it’s got to make business sense. Get your people to contact me directly, just me. I’m a one-man band, let’s get the contracts drawn up. I will fight you, Wembley Stadium, this year.”
The ball is now in Froch’s court and you can be sure that ‘The Cobra’ is not going to back down. A fight between these rivals may be unlikely to happen, but a response from Froch is guaranteed.
