December 7: Alireza Ghadiri vs Nyall Berry
Iranian-born Londoner Alireza Ghadiri (10-0, 2KO) and ‘Non-Stop’ Nyall Berry (11-1, 5KO) will clash for the IBO Continental super-bantamweight title on Saturday, December 7, in Sheffield, live on DAZN.
The 27-year-old from Maida Vale, known as ‘Razor Ali’, won the IBO Continental super-bantamweight title in his last fight against unbeaten Lennox Lythgoe from Wigan. Ghadiri dropped the youngster twice with body shots in the third round to win the vacant belt.
Claiming his first championship has seen the unbeaten super-bantamweight enter into the IBO top 100 world rankings, where fellow unbeaten Brit, Shabaz Masoud, is the reigning world champion.
Ali had only fought in four and six-rounders up to that last fight in May, so when he stepped up against only his second winning opponent of his five-year pro career, he delivered the goods.
From Chelmsley Wood, West Midlands, Berry has just one defeat on his record, when he challenged for his first title in June this year. The 25-year-old was dropped twice in the eighth-round of a scheduled 10 by undefeated Italian Francesco De Rosa, who claimed the vacant IBF European super-bantamweight title with the win.
Berry has already bounced back from defeat with a quick first-round stoppage win in September. Both boxers will meet having each scored stoppages in their last contests.
Headlining the stacked GBM Sports show is Danny Quartermaine vs Jack Bateson, fighting for the IBF and WBO European super-featherweight belts.
