Three vacant IBO belts up for grabs in Germany
Granit Shala vs Daniel Dietz headlines a packed 12-fight card in Germany on December 14, live on DAZN.
There are three scheduled IBO title fights on the show.
Heavyweights Shala and Dietz clash for the vacant IBO Inter-Continental and IBF International heavyweight titles in the main event; light-heavyweights David Kerkmann and Mohamed Mardenli vie for the vacant IBO International belt; while unbeaten prospects Alex Alselo and Keiver Pinango meet for the vacant IBO World Youth super-welterweight title.
Also on the card is the WBO World minimumweight title fight between Germany’s Sarah Bormann (18-1, 7KO) and challenger Jennifer Sabrina Meza (9-3, 3KO).
Granit Shala vs Daniel Dietz
IBO Inter-Continental heavyweight title
Once-beaten Granit Shala (16-1, 6KO) gets his first title fight since losing out on the European heavyweight strap to Oleksandr Zakhozhyi in April this year.
The 28-year-old from Munich has already bounced back with a second-round stoppage win in September.
Undefeated German Daniel Dietz (13-0, 12KO), known as Triple D, has 10 first-round knockouts on his perfect record and has already won BDB International and IBO and IBF European titles in his two-year, eight-month pro career.
David Kerkmann vs Mohamed Mardenli
IBO International light-heavyweight title
David “Mr.Bomb” Kerkmann (21-1, 18KO) has stopped his last two opponents in rounds three and five respectively, after losing for the only time in his five-year career to unbeaten Alen Begic in September for the WBO European super-middleweight title in Austria.
Undefeated 40-year-old Mohamed Mardenli (13-0, 12KO) remarkably has the same record as the aforementioned Dietz, with 13 wins, 12 knockouts, 10 of which came in the first round.
Born in Lebanon, the German KO artist won his last two fights in September and November via first-round KO, taking just 45 seconds and 29 seconds, respectively.
Alex Alselo vs Keiver Pinango
IBO World Youth super-welterweight title
Already a BDB International welterweight champion, 24-year-old Alex Alselo (14-0, 8KO) has knocked out two of his last four foes.
Venezuelan Keiver Pinango (7-0, 5KO) has never fought outside of his country before, but the southpaw has never lost and boasts a 71% KO ratio.
