December 8: Amanda Galle vs Niorkis Carreno 2
IBO World bantamweight champion Amanda Galle (10-0-1, 1KO) will defend her title to Venezuelan challenger Niorkis Carreno (25-4, 20KO) on Sunday, December 8, 2024, in Toronto on a Lee Baxter Promotions event.
35-year-old defending champion, Galle, won the vacant IBO belt in December 2023 with a unanimous decision over Carreno, with scores of 98-92, 97-93, 96-94.
Now the bantamweights are about to do it all over again, almost exactly a year later.
In the interim, Galle won an eight-round fight in June this year; all three scorecards gave her every single round at 80-72.
Carreno, 26 from Trujillo, Colombia, also took part in an eight-rounder in June, stopping her opponent in round five.
Other titleholders at their weight include Danish Dina Thorslund (23-0, 9KO), who holds the WBC and WBO bantamweight titles, as well as the Ring belt. Also, there’s IBF champ Shurretta Metcalf and WBA titlist Cherneka Johnson.
Also on the card is Ontario’s Steven Wilcox (25-4-1, 8KO) against Ghanaian Gabriel Coffie (11-1-2, 10KO).
