Things you need to know about Tommy Fury's next opponent, Daniel Bocianski
On April 5th, the undercard was unveiled for Tyson Fury's WBC/Lineal/Ring Magazine Heavyweight Championship of the World collision with challenger Dillian Whyte on Saturday, April 23. It was also revealed that an additional 4,000 tickets had been made available, making Fury-Whyte a record-breaking sporting event to be held at Wembley Stadium.
In what has been described as a step-up bout, the half-brother of the headliner, Tommy Fury, will meet Polishman Daniel Bocianski over six-rounds at light-heavyweight.
As it's Bocianski's first fight in the UK, BBN decided to find out as many facts about the man opposing 'TNT' Fury as possible:
Aged 27, Daniel Bocianski was born on December 12, 1994 in Nowy Sacz in southern Poland.
He attended Zespol Szkol as a student.
His boxing alias is 'Bocian'.
On his debut in May 2014, he won all four-rounds against Mustafa Dogan, who went on to challenge for the German light-heavyweight title.
He has lost just once, in his last fight, on an MB Promotions show, to Patryk Szymanski (21-5, 11KOs), who is a former WBO Youth, WBC Youth, and Polish national champion. Despite being stopped in the fifth round, Bocian proved his toughness during his sole career defeat, firing back valiantly for the entirety of the fight until a backhand uppercut snapped his head to the side and caused his legs to turn to jelly from underneath him, which then saw referee Arek Malek quickly jump in and waive off the bout. Staggering but still standing, he was in no condition to continue and it was a very good call from the official.
If you recognised the referee's name, Arek Malek, that's because he is a former pro who fought 43 times in the UK against opponents like Willie Limond, Tommy Coyle, Lenny Daws, Curtis Woodhouse and Chris Jenkins.
April 23 will be Bocianski's first ever time fighting outside of his native country, and Tommy Fury will be the first unbeaten opponent he has faced.
Daniel is heavily tattoed on both arms and all over his back. However, some of his tattoos are his sponsors' names justdrawn on for fight night only.
He supports his local football team, Sandecja Nowy Sacz. Formed in 1910, they play in black and white stripes and were promoted to the highest league in the 2016-2017 season for the first time in the club's 100-year history.
He is a big football fan and often plays on his FIFA 2022 video game in his spare time.
Bocian counts the Rocky films as his favourite movies.
In the past, he has auctioned off his fight shorts to raise money for charity.
Daniel has been in a relationship with his girlfriend for over four years.
What have they said?
Tommy Fury: "This man I'm about to fight would iron Jake Paul out easy because this man has probably got a family to feed, this is his only way of making money, he probably needs to make the money. He's gonna come with killer ambition."
Promoter Frank Warren: "I am delighted that Tommy Fury will get to share some of the spotlight with his big brother after missing out on his big fight last year through illness. If Tommy keeps on winning and continues to shine, his big opportunities will soon follow."
