WBC mourns Jose Fernando Morales Anaya, son of Erik Morales
The World Boxing Council paid tribute to José Fernando Morales Anaya, son of four-weight world champion, Erik Morales, after his untimely passing aged just 23.

The boxing family is in grief with this so very sad news, following the passing of José Fernando Morales Anaya, son of our great champion and tremendous friend Erik Morales.
At the WBC, we stand together and united after this irreparable incalculable loss for our beloved Erik, who has always been a leader and a great man.
Today we unite our hearts, thoughts and prayers, for our champion, but also for José Fernando, a young man who filled the lives of all who knew him with joy, warmth and love.
Today José Fernando has started the journey of no return, but he will always live in our memory, filling our thoughts with eternal pride.
Forever young and always an inspiration to those who had the destiny and good fortune to know as well as cherish him. The finest young man.
Fernando shines strong now in heaven.

Mexican boxing is in a state of shock and mourning after learning the sad news when Erik shared a series of messages and photographs in which he remembered his son wishing he had eternal rest; however, no details were given about the reasons that led to his death.
Father Erik posted the following tribute on social media: “I love you my Fer, may God take care of you and keep you in his glory. José Fernando Morales Anaya! My Ferny.”
