Harvey Horn vs Julien Roeder top brand-new prospect shows
Wasserman Boxing is launching a series of boutique shows to develop young talent and give back to grassroots boxing. The first event will take place on Thursday November 25 at the iconic York Hall in London and features East London’s Harvey Horn (9-0, 2 KOs) against Julien Roeder (6-0, 2 KOs).
Horn, who grew up on the Roman Road in Bethnal Green just minutes away from the ‘Mecca of British boxing’, tops a stacked bill as he takes on undefeated Frenchman Roeder in a ten-round Flyweight contest.
Fighting out of the legendary Repton Boxing Club in East London, Horn had a stellar amateur career before joining the paid ranks in December 2017 having won the 2014 ABA Championships, a silver medal at the 2015 European Championships and gold at the European U22 Championships.
As a professional, Horn, who is trained by Mark Tibbs, is unbeaten in nine bouts. The West Ham fanatic returns to the ring having made his promotional debut for Wasserman Boxing at The SSE Arena, Wembley on October 2 where he recorded a one-sided points victory over Adam Yahaya.
“I’m excited to be putting on a show and fighting in front of my fans again,” said Horn. “What better venue to perform at than the illustrious York Hall, steeped in history and in the heart of East London. Trust me, when I step through those ropes and get into that ring my supporters are in for the night of their lives.”
“This is the first in a series of boutique events that we will be staging to enable us to develop young talent and give back to grassroots boxing,” said promoter Nisse Sauerland. “We have a proud history of supporting local amateur clubs and other boxing-led initiatives and will continue to do so by using a percentage of the profits from these development shows to give back.
“We have some of the UK’s most exciting young boxers signed under the Wasserman Boxing banner and these events will give them a platform to showcase their skills. We have a fantastic line up confirmed for our first event on November 25 at the legendary York Hall including an East London homecoming for Harvey Horn, who will be able count on local support as he puts his unbeaten record on the line against Julien Roeder.”
Also in action on November 25 are top Heavyweight prospects Matty Harris and Hosea Stewart, who will be making their professional debuts having signed promotional terms with Wasserman Boxing, rising Super Bantamweight star ‘Razor’ Alireza Ghadiri (4-0), former Team GB female Flyweight debutant Chloe Watson, Dutch Super Middleweight Martin Foru (5-0, 2 KOs) and Welterweight amateur standout Saqib Khan.
