The fight began with the champion using distance and waist movements well. As the rounds progressed, the Mexican shortened the distance connecting well to body and head. In the closing rounds Fabiana regained control.
The Judges’ scores were 96-96, 97-94 and 96-97.
The 26-year-old Czech champion won the WBC world title in September 2018, defeating Britain’s Denise Castle. In April 2019 she defended her title for the first time drawing against the Mexican María Vargas.
In November of the same year, she defended her title for the second time defeating Mexican Ana Arrazola. Subsequently, she held four non-title battles and now she has defended her crown for the third time with this draw.
Corzo, 30, who was a FECOMBOX champion, showed great heart and courage throughout the bout.
