Exciting star Darren Tetley will have his first fight of 2020 when he competes in Leeds on March 6.
Bradford's Tetley (19-0, 8 KOs) signed with MTK Global this week, and now has his first fight alongside them when he competes on a Mark Bateson Promotions show at the Banqueting Suite at Elland Road next month.
The 26-year-old southpaw said: “I’m finally happy to get a date on a fight as it feels like ages since I’ve been in the ring. Within a week of signing with MTK Global, they have got me a date straight away.
“That shows what they are going to do for me, and hopefully I’ll have this fight and then look to get in the mix for some big fights.”
Promoter Mark Bateson added: “It’s great to have Darren Tetley back on the show as he boxed on these shows at the beginning of his journey.
“He’s now back as the journey continues so that’s really good, and also watch out for the best of local talent coming through on the show too.”
Tetley has previously held the WBO European welterweight title having won the belt back in May 2018, with an impressive stoppage win over previously unbeaten Mason Cartwright, who was down in the eighth and suffered a badly cut lip in the ninth and penultimate round.
