Jan Lodzik claims WBC Francophone title in Poland
In a great fight on a memorable night presented by Babilonski Promotion, at the Arena Hall in Legionowo, Poland, Jan Lodzik (9-0, 2KO) won the WBC Francophone welterweight title with a unanimous decision win over fellow unbeaten Pole, Mateusz Polski (5-1, 3KO).
The event was broadcast live on Polsat Sport TV.
The fight was fought with great momentum, both unbeaten boxers determined to take the belt home.
The first two rounds 'Polaczek' Polski clearly won, but from the third round onwards 'Iron' Lodzik and his team made effective adjustments to their game plan.
In the fifth round, Lodzik sent Polski to the canvas with a good power combination.
Although everyone thought that he would not recover from the knockdown, the 30-year-old Mateusz showed a big heart and enormous courage to continue until the end, showing courage and resolve.
The Judges’ scores were 97-92, 97-92 and 96-93, all in favour of 28-year-old Jan 'Iron' Lodzki, originally from Warsaw.
The supervisor of this fight was the Vice President of the WBC, Houcine Houichi.
