Rising heavyweight prospect Tommy Welch set for fight 13 in the UAE
Unbeaten heavyweight, Tommy Welch (12-0, 7KO), from Brighton, England, makes the 9,000 mile-round trip to the Arabian Peninsula to fight on 'The Jingle Bell Brawl' card at the Space Events and Sports Complex, Dubai.
Son of British heavyweight legend Scott Welch, 28-year-old Tommy is unbeaten in 12 bouts since turning pro in 2020. His 13th bout in Dubai will be his fifth fight of 2023 and will also mark his three anniversary in the pro ranks.
Tommy stopped his first four foes within rounds one and two in the first 10 months of his paid career. When he reached 7-0, he began to face opponents with winning records and was taken the distance over six rounds three times.
In his last bout, just one month prior in November, he stopped 5-0 Jonathan Exequiel Vergara in round four of a scheduled eight in his hometown of Brighton on the Harlem Eubank's undercard.
Also appearing on the Christmas card is unbeaten Turkish super-lightweight Kerem Ozmen (2-0); 34-year-old Nigerian cruiserweight Austine Nnamdi (6-4, 6KO); and Ireland's 'The Bullet from Belmullet' Rachel Lally making her pro debut.
