Daniel Egbunike and Martin McDonagh lay it all on the line
Unbeaten stars Daniel Egbunike (4-0) and Martin McDonagh (5-0) will put it all on the line when they meet at #MTKFightNight’s event at York Hall on June 28.
Egbunike (4-0 3 KOs) and McDonagh (5-0) are both proving their desire to get to the top by stepping up at a young stage in their careers, and the two men are extremely confident of coming out on top when they fight live on iFL TV.
Egbunike said: “I’m really happy. McDonagh has got an unbeaten record and was a good amateur, so it should be a cracking fight. It won’t be easy but I’m confident of getting the job done.
“I said after my last fight that I’ll be finishing this year with a title around my waist, so this is the step towards that. Straight after this fight I want that Southern Area title.
I’ll get through this and then win the Southern Area belt next, you can mark my words on that one. This is an excellent card to be on, so I’m buzzing to be a part of it.”
McDonagh added: “Excited would be an understatement. It’s great to have this opportunity so early on in my career and I’m looking forward to grabbing it with both hands.
“This is what I’m in the game for. I’ve said it from day one that I want to be British champion, and in my opinion this is the first step on the ladder.
“I have always been the underdog but I always come out on top, and I will be ready to showcase my skills on June 28. I’m expecting a tough fight, but I have trust in my trainer and I believe we will get the game plan right on the night.”
A huge event at York Hall next month sees Ryan Walsh defend his British featherweight title against Lewis Paulin, plus Ohara Davies takes on former world champion Miguel Vasquez, while Chantelle Cameron also has a WBC final eliminator against Commonwealth champion Anisha Basheel.
