Jeyssa Marcel conquers WBC Youth world title
On Wednesday, June 28 in Mairie de Garges, France, local fighter Jeyssa Marcel (10-0, 2KO) defeated Bolivian Carla Campos González (5-2, 4KO) to capture the WBC World Youth bantamweight title.
Carla Campos retired after four rounds of punishment from the former French champion.
From the very beginning of the match, 21-year-old rising star Jeyssa lit up the action, hurting her rival several times. Carla could never find the right distance and looked frustrated.
Gonzales was down in round three and then failed to come out for the fifth round, so victory was handed to the new Youth World champion from Val-d'Oise in the form of a fourth-round retirement.
The match supervisor was WBC Vice President Houcine Houichi.
