The weight class and line-up for Ultimate Boxxer 3 has been revealed
On May 10 at the Indigo at The O2 in London, the third instalment of Ultimate Boxxer takes place, this time featuring the exciting middleweight division.
The line up has been revealed as former Southern Area middleweight champion Tey Lynn-Jones (11-1); unbeaten Kaan Hawes (4-0-1); Sean Phillips (5-0-1), training out of the famous Peacock gym under the watchful eye of Daniel Dubois trainer Martin Bowers; former Southern Area middleweight titlist Grant Dennis (12-1); undefeated youngster Kieron Conway (9-0); hard-hitting Josh Groombridge (7-1); Peckham puncher Derrick Osaze (6-0); and Clacton's unbeaten Joe Hurn (10-0-1).
The combined record of the eight contestants tallies up to an impressive 69-3-2, with two Southern Area champions included and five unbeaten prospects.
Chatham's Grant 'Go-Getter' Dennis, 35, will be one of the favourites as a former Area champion that has also collected British and International Challenge titles against good opposition. His last fight in October ended in a 48-second knockout of English title contender Harry Matthews. Despite being inactive lately due to promises of big title fights falling through and struggling to get opponents to face him, his countless rounds sparring with two-tme World champion James DeGale should make up for that.
'Teysty' Lynn-Jones, 24 from Grays, will also be a strong contender having recently vacated the Southern Area middleweight strap that he was due to defend against Linus Udofia. His sole career loss was a surprising upset to another former Area titlist Nicky Jenman in 2017. It was Brighton boxer Jenman that Dennis defeated on points to win his Southern Area title back in 2016. Jenman went from conceding his title to defeating Lynn-Jones in the fifth-round in his next fight.
Shakan Pitters (10-0) won Ultimate Boxxer 2 – the light-heavyweights and will appear on the UB3 show as a supporting act, as wil Love Island star Idris Virgo (3-0) for the second time.Ultimate Boxxer 3 line-up:
