New-born Athena Fury stable and recovering
On Sunday, the WBC heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury and his wife Paris were thrilled at the birth of a daughter, who they have named Athena.
Tyson revealed on his social networks shortly afterwards that new-born Athena had to be transferred to the ICU area of the hospital.
Thankfully, the worried dad has since clarified that she is now stable and recovering.
For Tyson and his wife, the arrival of their daughter has been one of the happiest moments of their lives and although they did not expect that the little girl would have to be treated in intensive care, they are convinced that all the love and excellent care that she has had from the doctors and nurses at the hospital have been key for her speedy recovery, as well as the positive energy combined with the great number of prayers from her family, friends and the entire boxing community.
At this point and as a way of thanking all the magnificent medical team has done to help his daughter out of this battle, Tyson Fury has launched a fundraiser on behalf of – Alder Hey Family House Trust, who runs the Ronald McDonald House in the Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool, a foundation that since 1993 has provided accommodation for families of seriously ill children receiving care and treatment at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
The WBC came out in support to say: "We urge the entire boxing family to be empathetic and show that together we can make a difference! Help and donate at:
