Jake Paul gatecrashed Tommy Fury post-fight interview
Jake Paul (4-0, 3KOs) and Tommy Fury (7-0, 4KOs) were involved in an altercation backstage after the YouTube star's win over Tyron Woodley on Sunday night.
The pair both fought and won against MMA veterans on the pay-per-view card, with Paul taking an eight-round split decision over ex-UFC champion Woodley.
And Fury, fresh off an admittedly disappointing unanimous decision win over Anthony Taylor, was approached by Paul and his team in the hallway after the main event.
The Brit was being interviewed when he spotted the American and his sizeable entourage, who stopped the incident from getting physical.
"It just transpired about ten minutes ago," Fury told reporters at the post-fight press conference. "I was doing an interview and his whole team landed.
"Jake Paul's squaring up to me, the whole thing but he's seen me at ringside leaning over the ropes waiting to get in there and there's Logan saying, 'not right now'.
"They ain't fighters, I've said this from word one, if you want the fight I'm here and I'm ready to go, no running and no playing and it's fine if you don't want the fight just say it.
"We can put everyone's mind to rest and stop bulls***ing all the time and just say how it is, you either want the fight or not.
"I want the fight, and if you don't, that's fine just say it and I can go my way and you go yours, but stop using my name."
The pair's row almost became physical but Fury claimed that it was Paul's "forty security guards" who stopped it from going further.
"This man is all that in front of the cameras but he doesn't understand that me and my team will go now, we don't care how many of you there is, we'll get stuck in. He can count his blessings in a way really.
"Forty of his security team because the man can't fight, imagine him in a street fight, oh please, he wouldn't last two seconds."
Paul later added: "The guy had nothing to say. he had a mediocre performance against my sparring partner. Tommy Fury is supposed to be this tough bad guy with a legendary bloodline and I got in his face and let him talk.
"I hired him to be here and gave him a chance to shine. Will we see that fight? I will run that s*** easy, it's an easier fight than Tyron in my opinion."
Paul wouldn't be drawn on his next move and intends to take a break after four fights in 18 months.
"I've been boxing for 18 months, I haven't been to the dentist, my teeth are crooked, my nose is crooked," he added. "I need to take some time. I'm only 24-years-old, I need to find out who I am, I'm changing a lot."
And Fury believes that it could be curtains for Paul's fighting career, despite having gone 4-0 in his professional career.
"I think tonight we all saw Jake Paul clearly didn't know how hard boxing was," Fury added.
"He took one good right hand behind the ear, stumbled back, hit the ropes and thought 'oh this is a bit of an hard game this, I'll stick to the YouTube business'.
"I think that's what you've seen tonight, he took one good shot in a boxing ring and he crumbled.
"If Tyron would have pressed a bit more in those rounds he would have been out of there.
"This is probably why you won't see me and him next – I'd have swarmed him, worn him down and smashed him to pieces.
"That's why you won't see me and Jake Paul, it's not because of me, it's because of him."
