Three for FREE
Fightzone delivers a bonanza of Scottish boxing this week, with three fight cards from North of the Border on offer – and all the action can be watched LIVE and FREE.
Three shows on Thursday, Friday and Saturday will be free to view for fight fans on what is set to be a bumper boxing weekend.
On ThursdayFebruary 17at 8pm Fightzone are broadcasting some great action with a pre-recorded card from Renfrew. This show – in conjunction with promoter Iain Wilson – is a five-fight bill and showcases some great young Scottish fighters including talented unbeaten-in-eight welterweight Callen McAulay, as well as the pro debut of Jake Limond – the son of former British, Commonwealth and European Champion, Willie Limond.
The cameras then head to Turnberry on Friday February 18 for a LIVE card promoted by Fight Academy in association with Kynoch Boxing Promotions.
Top of the bill is a 'don't blink' contest featuring big-punching cruiserweight David Jamieson in his first title fight. The 30-year-old, who looks like he could be the next big thing on the British 14st 4lbs scene, faces Swedish champion Samo Jangirov for the IBO International belt over 10 rounds and is predicting an early finish! Also appearing on the card is Commonwealth Featherweight Champion, Nathaniel Collins.
It's a return to the same venue on Saturday February 19, with another top night of boxing promoted by Kynoch Boxing Promotions. Headlining this show is top prospect, John Docherty who takes on Ghaniain Super Middleweight Champion Mawuli Folivi in what is sure to be an explosive dust up. The pair have 12 KOs between them from just 16 contests and the Scot has said he will finish the job within three rounds! Docherty was a top amateur, a Commonwealth Games medallist and manager Sam Kynoch believes he will be British Champion within just a few fights.
"We're delighted to be supporting Scottish boxing," said Chief Operating Officer, Asif Vali. "Boxing is booming North of the Border with the likes of Josh Taylor and Lee McGregorleading the way, but there's so much talent up there that just doesn't get the exposure it deserves.
"There are undoubtedly future champions on these three shows and it's great that fight fans around the UK, and the world, will now get the chance to follow their journey to the top when previously they've been ignored by other broadcasters.
"The best thing is that all this action can be watched completely FREE on Fightzone. We have a packed schedule over the next few months with shows from Newcastle, London, Sheffield and Newark all locked in, and we'll be showcasing some of Britain's best talent including world champions Hannah Rankin and Jack Massey.
