His dad is Eric Bauderlique and he is trained by Mohammed Nichane at the Boxing Club Heninois.
His wife, Sofia, is from Moroccan decent, and they have two young sons together.

He is good friends with Tony Yoka, who won a super-heavyweight gold alongside him in Rio.
