Juan “Kid” Meza has passed away at 66
Former Champion Juan “Kid” Meza has died.
“Kid” Meza, who passed away this Thursday at 66 years old, was the first world boxing champion from that the municipality of Mexicali, in the state of Baja California, Mexico.
Born on March 18, 1956 in Mexicali, he became the World Boxing Council super bantamweight champion by snatching the crown from Jaime Garza on November 3, 1984 at the Midtown Neighborhood Center in Kingston, New York, knocking him out in one round and snatching his undefeated 40-0 record.
The World Boxing Council and its President Mauricio Sulaimán, send our deepest condolences to the Champion`s family and many friends.
