Brian London sadly passed away at the age of 87 on June 23
Two-time heavyweight World title challenger, Brian 'The Blackpool Rock' London, sadly passed away just days before his 88th birthday.
London, whose real name was Brian Sydney Harper, amassed a professional record of 37-20-1 (26 wins by KO) during his 15 year long campaign which began in 1955 and ended with defeat to Joe Bugner in 1970
Born in Hartlepool in 1034 London moved to Blackpool when he was 16 and remained there ever since.
During his career, London captured the British and Commonwealth Heavyweight Titles as well as sharing the ring with many of the most notable heavyweights of his day, namely the legendary Muhammad Ali.
Other opposition included: Joe Bugner; Jerry Quarry; Zora Folley; Henry Cooper; Ingemar Johansson; Willie Pastrano; Floyd Patterson.
London was part of a quality quartet of British boxers that included Henry Cooper; Joe Erskine and Dick Richardson, who all dominated the domestic boxing scene during the 50s and 60s.
His father, Jack London, won the British heavyweight title in the 40s, while his brother, Jack Junior, campaigned as a light-heavyweight.
Our deepest sympathies and condolences go out to his loved ones at this time.
