Joe McGrail moves up to 2-0
There were a number of wins for rising stars as an action-packed MTK Global event took place at the University of Bolton Stadium on Friday, February 25.
Everton Red Triangle prospect Joe McGrail (2-0, 1KO) doubled his win tally on the night with a 40-36 points win over Lithuanian Marius Vysniauskas (2-11, 1KO).
The 19-year-old from Liverpool was a standout amateur, winning a European junior silver medal and the National ABAs, experiencing over 50 bouts in total.
His older brother, Peter, 25, is also a 2-0 pro and the siblings will share a card in Liverpool together on April 22. It's their second time on the same bill at the Echo Arena, having both competed on the Benn-Algieri undercard, live on DAZN, where they each secured second-round stoppages.
The talented brothers are both trained by Paul Stevenson at the Everton Red Triangle in Liverpool, which also houses unbeaten prospects Nick Ball, Andrew Cain and Brad Strand – all signed to Frank Warren.
In the main event of the evening, Jack Rafferty extended his undefeated record to 18-0, as he picked up a third round stoppage win over Evgenii Vazem. Rafferty was dominant throughout, as he became just the sixth man to stop Vazem in 32 professional fights.
Mike McGoldrick moved to 8-1, as he claimed a six round points win over Elvis Dube, while Muhammad Ali Zahid returned to the ring for the first time in two years, as he moved to 7-0 with a six round points win over Craig Sumner.
There was also a six round points win for Josh Padley, who defeated Brayan Mairena to take his record to 6-0, while debutants Luke Caffrey, Adam Carberry, Taylor Finch and Barney Stokes all earned impressive victories.
