Fadhili Majiha wins WBC Africa title in 50th bout
In a great fight held at the PTA Saba Saba in Dar-Es-Salaam, Tanzania, the local fighter Fadhili Majiha (36-14-4, 15KO) defeated the South African Bongani Wonder Boy Mahlangu (26-10, 14KO), winning the African super bantamweight title endorsed by the World Boxing Council.
From the beginning, 30-year-old Tanzanian Majiha controlled the actions in the ring even though 44-year-old southpaw Mahlangu never gave up and tried constantly to seek the victory by KO.
The Judges’ three cards awarded the well-deserved victory to Fadhili Majiha, who became the first WBC Africa super bantamweight champion. The supervisor of this important fight in Africa was the Vice President of the WBC, Houcine Houichi.
British boxing fans will remember Fadhili Majiha for his fights with world champion Paul Butler and British champ Andrew Selby taking both Brits the distance, even dropping Selby twice in what would become the Welshman's last ever pro fight.
