Tyson Fury's coach SugarHill honoured with WBC Trainer's Belt
This Saturday, April 23, WBC heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury achieved a spectacular victory by defeating the interim champion Dillian Whyte, showing great power and boxing skills, honed by his trainer Sugar Hill Steward.
The American Coach has been with Fury since 2019 and guided him to win the WBC title, defeating Deontay Wilder in February 2020, then repeating the feat again in October 2021.
His real name is Javan and he is the nephew of legendary trainer Emanuel Steward, head of the iconic Kronk Gym, where dozens of champions have been trained; and right there, SugarHill and Fury met in 2010.
He had previously worked as a chef and a police officer, before following in his uncle’s footsteps via boxing training full-time. With Fury he has really bonded and they have made a very successful team.
SugarHill received the WBC Trainers Belt, a unique recognition, inspired by the traditional towel used at all times by these mentors who, behind the limelights, imbue with dedication, perception and skill.
