Stanley Stannard vs Ashlee Eales for vacant Midlands Area super-welterweight title
Carl Greaves Promotions presents 'King of the Midlands' on Saturday, March 2, 2024, featuring Stanley Stannard vs Ashlee Eales in the headlining slot at the Morningside Arena, Leicester.
Harby's Stanley Stannard (10-1, 4KO) is a 27-year-old southpaw who lost his last bout with Lee Cutler in May this year. It was a close contest that Cutler got the better of during the early to middle rounds, with Stannard rallying late to make the contest close at 95-97.
Now he tackles Nuneaton's Ashlee Eales (9-0, 3KO) in his second 10-rounder and first title fight. For 29-year-old Eales, this will be his first contest above six-rounds, so Stannard is the slight favourite heading into the main event. Both boxers are southpaws, so fans can expect a technical, closely contested battle.
Also on the card are big names from the local area, such as CJ Challenger (14-1, 3KO); British and Commonwealth title contender Leon Woodstock (13-3, 6KO); and undefeated super-welterweight Callum Blockley (11-0, 2KO).
Doors open 5pm, first bell from 7pm.
