Serrano to master Taylor in Round 8
Although the fight is expected to go to the wire at Madison Square Gardens
Amanda Serrano is predicted to edge out Katie Taylor with an eighth Round victory in front of a sell-out crowd at Madison Square Gardens.
Sporting Index predict the unified featherweight world champion will inflict the first defeat of Katie Taylor’s career by stopping the fight with exactly 17 minutes 30 seconds on the clock.
Puerto Rican puncher Serrano is the favourite to win by KO, TKO, DQ or Technical Decision at 7/2 while Irish superstar Taylor’s chances of doing the same are priced at 7/1.
However, the fight looks to have every chance of going the distance at 3/10 and if so, there’s very little to separate the two fighters, with Taylor shading favouritism to win on Points at 6/4 from Serrano at 8/5.
Neville Burdock, Head of Trading at Sporting Index, said: “Taylor v Serrano looks to have all the makings of a classic, and we predict Amanda Serrano will stop the fight just before Round 9, with 17 minutes and 30 seconds on the clock.”
“The Puerto Rican fighter is favourite to win by KO, TKO, DQ or on Technical Decision at 7/2, but it would be foolish to write off Taylor and we make the unbeaten Bray Bomber 6/4 favourite to win on points.”
