Rivero is crowned WBC Mediterranean light-flyweight champ
At the Huerta del Rey Sports Center in Valladolid, Spain, the local fighter Isabel Rivero (4-2-1) defeated Albanian Griselda Torollari (2-2, 1KO) by unanimous decision, conquering the WBC Mediterranean light-flyweight title.
Valladolid fighter Isabel Rivero, 35, improved her record to four wins, two losses and one draw, while 19-year-old Griselda was left with an even number of wins and losses.
The contest was entertaining, but Rivero showed the better condition, pace, stamina and superior boxing skills from the outset. It was her first win since December 2022, having drawn and lost her last two bouts. This bout also marks one year in the professional ranks for Rivero, having debuted in June 2022. Within that time, she has fought in seven bouts, two of those being championship fights which she has won and drawn.
The judges scorecards were 99-90, 98-91, 99-90. The Supervisor was WBC Vice President Houcine Houichi.
