Rivero and Torrallari clash for WBC Mediterranean title in sunny Spain
Friday, June 30, at the Huerta del Rey Sports Center in Valladolid, Spain, local boxer Isabel Rivero (3-2-1) fights Albanian Griselda Torrallari (2-1, 1KO) for the World Boxing Council Mediterranean light flyweight title.
Valladolid's Isabel comes to this fight after drawing in April against unbeaten French fighter Souad Masmoudi for the vacant WBF International light flyweight title. The 35-year-old's last win was in her home town in December 2022.
Griselda has a record of two wins and one loss, with one knockout. In her most recent fight in February, she defeated Teona Pirosmanashvili, from Georgia, by decision. She has won her last two bouts, both time abroad. However, she lost her only fight in Spain. Managed by Albi Sorra, Griselda is just 19-years-old, 16 years Rivero's junior.
This Thursday, the official weigh-in of the fight, which is promoted by Face Off Boxing Club, took place, with both warriors registering 108 pounds.
The fight supervisor will be WBC Vice President Houcine Houichi.
