Goodwin Boxing secure a Southern Area title shot for prospect Liam Dillon next year
Goodwin Boxing have announced their 22-year-old lightweight prospect Liam Dillon will face David Birmingham for the Southern Area title at the York Hall next year.
Dillon (8-0) has briskly amassed an eight-fight undefeated record since making his debut in April 2017 and will now step up to take on former Area lightweight challenger David Birmingham (8-3) on March 9, 2019 at the iconic East End building.
Whilst only stopping one of his eight opponents, Dillon has an all-action style which is more suited to the longer rounds which he believes will be the crucial factor in this contest with the tough Portsmouth puncher.
Dillon’s manager Steve Goodwin was delighted to secure this opportunity, “Liam has come a long way and has an excellent trainer who is getting improvement in every single fight from him. David is a tough opponent but we feel Liam is ready to take the step up and we are really excited about this fight.”
Further title fights are expected to be added to this card in due course.
