Nabet wins WBC Francophone title
In Aulnay-sous-Bois, France, local fighter Sofia Nabet (5-0) defeated Hungary’s Edina Kiss (16-19-0, 9KO) by unanimous decision, winning the WBC Francophone lightweight title.
34-year-old Sofia demonstrated her best technique by effectively boxing Kiss, who showed great heart throughout the fight.
The judges' scorecards were: 99-91, 100-90, 100-90. The Supervisor was WBC Vice President Houcine Houichi.
The Frenchwoman became a national French lightweight champion in her third fight in April 2022, losing one single round from eight, which is the only round of boxing she has lost in her career so far.
She is now ranked #21 in the BoxRec world lightweight rankings.
Budapest boxer, Kiss, has previously taken rounds from Katharina Thanderz and Sophie Alisch before, but has only one once in her last 12 bouts. In 2017, she challenged Amanda Serrano for the WBO World super-bantamweight title. She won her first six bouts in 2015-2016 before meeting Amanda Serrano for the first time in Puerto Rico.
The 33-year-old has fought in several different countries, including England, America, Australia, Malta and Germany.
