The Super Six
No fewer than SIX of the most promising boxers in the London area have turned professional with MTK Global.
Standout amateurs William Johnson-Hamilton, Aaron Prospere, Elliot Whale, Inder Bassi Singh, Charlie Kenny and George Mitchell have all put pen to paper on contracts and eagerly await their professional debuts.
William Johnson-Hamilton: Exciting cruiserweight, Johnson-Hamilton, knocked out 23 of his 28 opponents in the unpaid ranks on his way to accolades such as the ABA U20s title and the Sweden’s King of the Ring title, while supremely talented Aaron Prospere reached the ABA Elite finals after only nine fights and earned selection for the England Development Squad.
Elliot Whale: Whale is a former England team captain with over 100 amateur fights to his name who won the Junior ABAs before reaching the senior finals this year while Singh scooped the Haringey Box Cup title and is also a three-time national finalist and five-time London champion.
Charlie Kenny: Hard-hitting Kenny shone as an amateur bantamweight in beating big names such as Peter McGrail and Sam Noakes on his way to becoming a three-time Tri-Nations champion and National Elite king.
George Mitchell: The 18-year-old Mitchell has been to every national final since the age of 11 and won European bronze and three national titles on the way. He is already sparring the likes of Charles Frankham. Joe Cordina, Florian Marku and Ohara Davies.
MTK Global promoter Lee Eaton said: “This is a special day for all these promising young fighters, a special day for MTK London and a special day for MTK Global.
“We’ve shown again and again we are committed to recruiting the best boxing talent out there and we believe all of these prospects have what it takes to go on and achieve great things as professional.
“You only have to look at the list of their amateur achievements and their trophy cabinets to know that the potential here is massive. We look forward to helping them chase their dreams.”
MTK London manager Adam Hart added: “This is great news for everyone and these six fighters are all gifted enough to win titles in the paid ranks.
“Our shows are getting bigger and bigger and we welcome the prospect of these young men building their careers on some big stages.”
Stay tuned for news of their debuts.
