Siblings Gabriela and Sebastian Fundora
Southpaw siblings Sebastian and Gabriela Fundora were the special guests, via zoom, for the WBC at Martes de Café:
Proud of their last weekend's performance at the Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California, the talented brother and sister talked about their future plans.
WBC Interim super welterweight champion, Sebastian Fundora (20-2-1, 13KO), will seek to fight with the absolute champion Jermell Charlo, stating he is ready for the challenge and that although he respects Charlo, he knows that he has what it takes to get the victory and become the absolute king of the 154lbs. division.
Regarding his recent unanimous decision win against Carlos Ocampo, the interim champion commented that he really enjoyed the match as he tried to switch his style in order to offer a great show for the fans.
“I didn’t want to use my distance this time. I am here to entertain my fans, so I wanted to have a different fight”, the 24-year-old said.
Regarding how he pictures the fight with Charlo, Sebastian commented that it will be a tough complicated war, still he claimed the fight will not go the whole distance.
For WBC Latino flyweight champion, Gabriela Fundora (9-0, 4KO), sharing the card with her brother was extremely exciting and even fun, since they had never defended their respective titles together.
Convinced that she will make history in women’s boxing, 20-year-old Gabriela will look for an opportunity to dispute the green and gold title in 2023.
Visibly happy and both wearing a beautiful WBC jacket, the Fundora siblings thanked all the support and confirmed their participation at the WBC Annual 60th Convention which will take place in Acapulco from November 6th to 11th.
