Green vs Crews-Dezurn final press conference quotes
Closing 2023, the former undisputed super middleweight champion Franchon "The Heavy Hitting Diva" Crews-Dezurn (8-2, 2KO) will fight undefeated Shadasia "Sweet Terminator" Green (13, 11KO) this Friday in Orlando.
The green and gold title was vacated by Savannah Marshall, who is now Champion in Recess, after she suffered an injury which will take some time to fully recover.
Both American contenders are the best in the world in their weight category; Green is ranked #1, while Crews occupies second place, so a battle of epic proportions is expected.
For Baltimore boxer Crews-Dezurn it will be a special night, since at 36-years-old she has the opportunity to once again be crowned world champion at 168lbs. Earlier in the year, she lost her undisputed status when defeated by Savannah Marshall in Manchester, England, five months ago.
New Jersey's Shadasia Green, 34, will have the opportunity to become world champion for the first time, declaring that this is the most important fight of her life. With a fearsome KO rate of 84% she is confident that her power will make the difference.
This battle will take place in Orlando, United States and will co-star Jake Paul vs. Andre August and this is what was said during the final press conference:
Shadasia Green: “I have forgiven Franchon for everything she has done in the past. So I can compete with a level head. She [knows] what she did as far as upcoming to this event. Doesn’t matter anymore the contract is signed, and the belt is on the line, and here we are.
“Not to take anything away from Franchon Crews, she is a great fighter. Respect to her and what she has done for the sport… what she does do well, she is good at it, but I am a boxer and a puncher, and my record shows that. I have the technical skills, the technical abilities, I can do it all.”
Franchon Crews-Dezurn: “She is a good fighter, she is ambitious but I have always focused myself on where do I need to go.
“Every step I made, every step I took with other women, every single act I took, created this opportunity and I am ready!
“Whatever you gotta do to feel fine that’s right for me. I don’t know what else she wants for me, but I am ready. Let’s get it on.”

Savannah Marshall
Green told Sky Sports that she would love a UK showdown with Savannah in 2024, "I would love to come to the UK and fight Savannah Marshall for the undisputed super-middleweight world title. That's been my dream.
"I just beat whoever they put in front of me and now we're here. I just want to perform on another level that you've never seen a female perform on.
"I just want to send a statement that I'm seizing the moment and when I say that I'm on my way to become the undisputed super-middleweight world champion, that's what I plan to do.
"Definitely [I'm] a dangerous threat and I look forward to putting that on the line against some of the top tier champions in my weight class."
Crews-Dezurn puts her loss to Marshall, back in July, down to a "a dud performance".
She believes that victory over Green this weekend will earn her a rematch, "I think I'm deserving of that. I gave her opportunity. She was in a position I'm in now.
"It was a very close fight, it should have been a draw.
"I've rarely been in a fight where I'm getting dominated and I can't win five rounds at least. Even as an amateur I've never been in a fight where I can't win half of the fight.
"My only goal is to become world champion again, have the opportunity to come over there to the beautiful fans of the UK, fight Savannah again and just shut people up.
"She's [Shadasia Green] going to learn," the former champion shifted her focus back to her next opponent. "For somebody to attack my character that's when it sends me in a different space and it makes me [think] I really want to beat you up. So that's where we're at now. We're going to have fun.
"When we fight for this WBC title we're going to see who's the real bully."
Crews concluded: "She's the 'Sweet Terminator,' 'she's going to knock everybody out,' 'she's a killer'. Beating her would just show: I told y'all.
"I'm just going to right my wrongs and keep fighting."
