Canelo vows to KO Golovkin
Undisputed super middleweight world champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez will face unified middleweight world champion, Gennadiy “GGG” Golovkin, in a long-awaited trilogy that will be the main event on Saturday, September 17, at the Arena T- Mobile, Las Vegas, Nevada.
Mexican superstar “Canelo” held a training session for the media, looking in peak physical condition under the direction of Eddy Reynoso.
“I am the undisputed champion and apart from that I take risks because I love boxing, I like challenges and I want to be the best in history,” said 32-year-old “Canelo” regarding his fight against 40-year-old Kazakh Golovkin.
“Canelo” wants this time to end the crucial clash with a knockout, something that could not materialize in the two previous fights. He is confident of not reaching the end of the match and knocking out Gennady earlier than the final bell.
“I think I’m going to finish him before the 12th round. I’m going to put all my boxing skills, all my boxing experience to do this,” Alvarez said.
Golovkin will move up to 168 pounds to challenge his career rival Canelo, against whom he has a draw and a career loss from him.
In the main undercard bout on this card, WBC super flyweight champion Jesse Rodriguez will be in a battle against Israel Gonzalez, in addition to other exciting matchups that will fill an exciting night leading up to the most anticipated fight of the year.
The fight is organized by Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing and will be broadcasted by DAZN.
