Nery Plata travels to Germany to defend WBC and WBA crown to Bormann
On December 16 at the Weihnachtscirkus in Karlsruhe, Germany, Yesica Nery Plata (29-2, 3KO) will face local fighter Sarah Bormann (17-0, 7KO).
Mexican Nery Plata comes to this fight after winning the WBC flyweight title by dominating the Canadian Kim Clavel in Canada, in January of this year.
Nery Plata, aged 29, will travel with the confidence of accomplishing a new feat, since she previously won the WBA title in Argentina by defeating Jessica Bopp. Yesica has a record of 29 wins with 3 knockouts and only 2 losses. The Mexican champion is currently enjoying an eight-fight win streak.
'Babyface' Bormann, 33-years-old, has an extensive amateur career and is reportedly ready to become world champion. Sarah will enter the fight with 17 victories with 7 knockouts and without knowing defeat. Her 17 bouts have either ended via a conclusive knockout or a shutout unanimous decision win. The talented German has yet to be troubled in her career so far and has both the WBC and IBF interim titles.
23-year-old German Alex Alselo (11-0, 7KO) and Czech Republic's 'Lumberjack' Miroslav Serban (14-15-1, 7KO) will clash in the co-main event for the BDB International welterweight title.
Unbeaten Alselo already defeated Serban in his penultimate fight in April with a 78-74 points victory in his hometown of Karlsruhe. Now, the rivals reunite eight months for silverware, upping the stakes for both men.
