Gritty Sandy wins WBC Francophone title
On Saturday, Aughust 14, in Clermont-Ferrand, Sandy Messaoud (16-6-0, 1 KO) defeated Nurali Erdogan (12-1-0, 1 KO) in an entertaining match, in which he won the WBC Francophone welterweight title.
This fight marked the return of the 36-year-old Messaoud, who showed his greater experience and quality to dominate younger Erdogan, who nevertheless showed great heart.
This fight led a card called “The Night of Boxing” where there were four other professional fights that pleased the fans.
The match supervisor was WBC Vice President Houcine Houichi.
It's the southpaw's eighth straight win and has solidified his claim as the No.1 French fighter at 147lbs. His last three bouts have all been championship contests, winning WBO Oriental, IBF Australasian, WBA Inter-Continental, and now he has added the green and gold WBC Francophone belt, he has a collection of honours from all four major governing bodies.
