Ryan Copland puts pen to paper with Steve Goodwin
Goodwin Boxing have announced the signing of undefeated super-welterweight Ryan Copland (1-0) on a three year management contract.
The talented Copland turned professional late at 33 but has had only the one contest in the past 12 months.
“I met Steve before turning professional but in a major error decided not to go with him and signed with someone else. My career has just not taken off and when I was released from my contract there was only one place to go and am delighted that Steve and his team have taken me on.”
Steve said: “Ryan is realistic about his ambitions but wants to see just how far he can go. He is a nice lad and we will get him active and take it all from there.”
Ryan will be trained by Rob Hodges in Ipswich where leading heavyweight Fabio Wardley hails from. There will be nothing lacking in his training team and with Steve’s guidance now his career can get into full swing.
Ryan will make his Goodwin bow on 6th July at York Hall on the undercard of title action and a stacked card.
Ryan concluded: “These Goodwin shows are top notch and replicate major TV boxing events. I cannot wait to bring my fans from Ipswich down to London to experience such a great show.”
