Chisale seeks WBC Silver title in Kazakhstan
Ruth "Black Chocolate" Chisale (12-2, 7KO) has finally secured a WBC Silver lightweight title fight against Firuza Sharipova (15-2, 8KO) on June 5 in Kazakhstan.
This bout comes six years after Chisale lost a WBC Silver title elimination fight to Zambian Lolita Muzeya.
25-year-old Chisale, who is part of the Malawi Defense Force, says she is looking forward to the fight to claim her first WBC belt, when she faces tough fighter Firuza Sharipova of Kazakhstan.
“Memories of how I lost controversially in 2017 are still fresh. It was just an elimination fight, but my focus was on winning to secure a WBC fight. Now another opportunity has opened up. Therefore, I will do everything possible to win the belt.”
