RJJ certain Eubank Jr will remain with BoMac for the Benn fight
Roy Jones Jr believes Chris Eubank Jr will remain with trainer Brian McIntyre for the foreseeable future ahead of a potential showdown against fellow Brit, Conor Benn.
February is being touted as the month the pair finally collide and Eubank Jr’s stock is high after avenging his defeat to Liam Smith earlier this year.
Despite having worked with Eubank Jr for fights against Liam Williams and Smith, Jones believes that the Brigton boxer will remain with Team BoMac moving forward.
“I don’t know it depends on what he wants to do and what he’s doing but he seems pretty happy with the BoMac team, and I think that’s the best thing for him,” 54-year-old Jones told Betway when asked if he would work with Eubank again.
“The plan we had for the first fight, he did the second time in the second fight, but he changed his mind and didn’t do it, but that was the plan for the first fight. What I told him to do the first time, he did exactly that the second time.”
The former four-weight world champion gave a brief insight into how he believes his next fight with family rival, Conor Benn, could go, slated for February 3, 2024, “It’s a tough fight. If somebody can catch you with a right elbow or the right punch or a head shot, anything can happen. With Conor Benn being a big puncher and lands some good head shots anything can happen, but I think that Chris understands that now.”
