Top prospect George Hennon set for third fight this year
Maidstone's George Hennon (6-1) will be back in the ring on November 19, at his familiar stomping ground at the York Hall in Bethnal Green, where he has fought three times already in his 7-fight pro career.
After previously walking away from boxing in 2016, the talented 147-pounder heads back to the ring less than two months on from his last bout, in September, where he defeated the far heavier Jordan Grannum 40-36 on points over four rounds.
The 28-year-old Kent puncher, trained by George O'Mahoney and managed by Steve Goodwin, announced on Facebook: "Confirmed! Excited to announce that I’ll be back in the ring on the 19th of November. Ready to end the year with a bang. Looking forward to seeing the army back at the York hall for one more time this year!"
Hennon had five professional boxing fights between 2015-2016, when trained by Johnny Greaves, but after a fight fell through on a Queensberry Promotions show, due to an injury to George's elbow, he decided to take a break from the sport, but is now set for his third fight within five months since making his comeback in June this year.
A scaffolder by trade, George has been able to drop down to working just a few days each week with the help of sponsors to concentrate on his boxing career.
“I feel like I could earn money at whatever time,” he explained. “But I feel like for these next five to seven years, I’m just going to dedicate myself to boxing.”
Tickets are £50 Standard / £75 Ringside – Contact Team Hennon to book.
