Richard Riakporhe splits from Mark Tibbs to join Angel Fernandez
British cruiserweight champion Richard Riakporhe (11-0, 8KOs) has joined forces with Angel Fernandez.
The 30-year-old posted a picture online on July 30, with the caption, "Excited to be starting a new chapter of my boxing career with coach Angel Fernandez. Let's go to work."
The Londoner was last in action in December 2019 when he outpointed Jack Massey at the York Hall in Bethnall Green to win the vacant British belt, flooring 'One Smack' in the 10th round in what was a thrilling contest.
When he first turned pro, he was with Ted Bami, then moved to Mark Tibbs in 2018, where he defeated three opponents with unbeaten records – Sam Hyde, Chris Billam-Smith, Jack Massey – and won WBA Inter-Continental and British titles, and became managed by Dillian Whyte.
Now, he enters the next stage of his career with Fernandez in his corner.
