Conor Benn and Errol Spence Jr clash on Twitter
On February 23, one day after Conor Benn was cleared of any wrongdoing by the WBC, the feisty welterweight from Essex got involved in a Twitter spat with WBC, WBA and IBF World champion Errol Spence Jr.
The Brit and the Amerian got into an argument over Benn's recent failed drug tests, which were explained by an excess of eggs consumed during training camps.
Here's what was said:
Benn: You been talking to the most… and well I am reinstated in the WBC. I'll have you next! You worry about handling your drink driving convictions. W**ker.
Spence: Drinks & ped two different things. Difference me & you I owned up to my sh*t you a cheat just like yo daddy.
Benn: Proven innocent… I ain't raising my hands to sh*t I ain't done! You're convicted (Big DIFFERENCE) Is that the excuse you lot making over there after my dad dealt with your world champions.
The boxing world has been in uproar ever since the findings were released, including professional boxers, trainers, managers, fans and even stars from other sports.
Here's just a few of the reactions so far:
"Not proven innocent, just found a convenient loophole by all accounts"
"You haven't been proven innocent though"
"You're dirty and the workd knows it. Absolutely embarrassing behaviour in the aftermath of failing two drugs tests. Eggs my arse, you're a dirty fighter."
