Four new matchmakers tasked with testing talents
Queensberry Promotions today announced a new four-man matchmaking unit tasked with propelling Queensberry’s exciting roster of young British talent to new heights.
Steve Furness, Errol Johnson and Neil Bowers are the men handling the UK matchmaking duties, whilst New York-based Rick Glaser will oversee international affairs.
Queensberry only recently parted ways with previous matchmaker Jason McClory and Hall-of-Fame promoter Frank Warren is excited to begin this new era.
Warren said: “This is a crucial time for Queensberry Promotions and I have full confidence in the men we’ve selected to lead the charge in terms of matchmaking.
“Our roster of young talent is unrivalled anywhere in world boxing, and the careers of guys like Daniel Dubois, Dennis McCann, David Adeleye and Hamzah Sheeraz – to name just a few – need to be guided with care and intelligence.
“With Steve, Errol and Neil we have a breadth of boxing knowledge that spans the entire country and, with Rick, we also have an international eye that will help us scour the globe for talent.
“I wish Jason all the best in his future endeavours but it was time for a change, time to kick our operation into a higher gear and I think we’ve done just that.
“This is a critical time in the history of British boxing and I’m happy that the team we’ve assembled will help keep Queensberry Promotions at the front of the pack when it comes to talent and career development.”
Furness, Johnson, Bowers and Glaser have taken up their posts with immediate effect.
