Jarrell Miller ready to follow in Tyson Fury's footsteps and knock out Dillian Whyte
New York boxing promoter Dmitry Salita told the Lord Ping blog that Jarrell Miller (24-0-1, 20KO) vs Dillian Whyte (28-3, 19KO) could be the most explosive heavyweight fight to make right now.
Brooklyn boxer 'Big Baby' Miller, 33, bounced back from a three-year break to outpoint Ariel Esteban Bracamonte unanimously over 10-rounds in June, and will be back out again in July.
Following a lengthy doping ban, the undefeated American is looking to get back into world title contention and promoter Salita believes he could make the perfect fight to do this against the Brixton 'Body Snatcher', he explains in his latest interview:
Salita believes that Miller stops Whyte and that the build-up will be pay-per-view worthy alone
“I believe Jarrell Miller versus Dillian Whyte has the potential to be one of the most explosive fights in the heavyweight division. The personalities, the styles – Jarrell will come to fight, he’ll come to seek and destroy and put on a show for the fans. And then there’s the crossroads nature of this fight that makes it a really interesting tussle. Their blend of characters would create a huge spectacle and the winner would be in line for a world title shot – the build up alone would be box office.
“Dillian, as I understand it, is not tied to a network. He has a history of great fights on Sky Sports. I'm over in the UK right now and it's something I'll drop into conversation with Ben Shalom. Dillian has a history of huge fights on Sky and Jarrell Miller will make another great dance partner.
“Jarrell is happy to go to the UK, which has become the center of heavyweight boxing. He loved the camp with Tyson Fury. He also enjoyed working with Sugar Hill Steward, Fury’s trainer. As of now, Jarrell is not working with Sugar Hill full time but that could change in the future.
“He learnt a lot from working with the heavyweight champion of the world and now Jarrell’s ready to follow in Tyson’s footsteps and KO Whyte – but he has to be at his very best. Whyte is a world class fighter who has shown incredible ability to come back on top after defeats. But Jarrell at his best is one of the leading heavyweights in the world. I am confident that at his best he has the ability to not only beat Whyte, but stop him.”
