Who wins the Joseph Parker vs Derek Chisora rematch?
Former WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker (29-2, 21KOs) rematches with ring rival Dereck Chisora (32-11, 23KOs) at the AO Arena in Manchester on December 18.
Fight fans are being treated to a Christmas cracker of a contest just days befor the big day, which is guaranteed to end the year with a bang, if the first fight is anything to go by.
The Kiwi was down just seconds into their May 1st fight, but he rallied back in the later rounds to win on points. 'WAR' Chisora is adamant he won the contest and is still raging at the judges' decisions, but both boxers have promised they will end the fight early this time around, but who will back up their words? BBN have once again relied on their trusted panel of experts for the answer:
Peter Sims
Boxing Trainer
"Chisora vs Parker 2 was a card I desperately wanted to get Bivol vs Richards 2 on and make it a return headline show. Unfortunately Bivol wasn’t interested…
"I’ve also got an interest in this fight, re: Parker, as co-trainer with Tony of the Aussie Demsey McKean who is looking to get the Parker fight next year!
"I think Parker, on the second time around having spent time with Andy Lee, will be too smart for 'War' Chisora and I expect the Kiwi to come out on top with a clear points win."
David Coldwell
Chisora's Trainer
“I think we’ll see a more aggressive and positive Joseph Parker from the first fight. I’m also seeing a better Chisora. When you have intelligence fighters, you see massive improvements from the first fights as fighters learn from mistakes. We’re going to see a better fight because the fighters will be better.”
Arijan Goricki
Featherweight Prospect
"Good fight, I can see both getting the W, so it will come down to the preparation. I will slightly give the edge to the Parker, hopefully he will be persistent with his boxing and staying away from Chisora.
"Parker UD."
Steve Wood
Boxing Manager/Promoter
"Was at the last fight and, being honest, was not one of the best fights I have seen.
"I cannot see any improvement coming from Chisora, but I do believe Parker can box a lot better, so I'm going with a Parker points win in another poor fight."
Ace Adams
Super-middleweight prospect
"This is going to be a great fight, I’m going to go for Derek, if he is able to keep the pressure on Joseph, he could stop him."
Tim Rickson
BBN Editor
"I think Parker will be an improved fighter, whereas Chisora, you just know what you are going to get with him every time.
"Both have promised it ends early this time, I think Chisora has more of an interest in ending it inside the distance if he really does believe he won the first fight and genuinely thinks the judges don't like him!
"Parker will be a lot more switched on in the opening rounds after the early knockdown last time. I think he will get into his stride earlier and outbox Chisora from the start. If he can get into his rhythm early on then he could cruise to a points victory."
Ben Day
Former Southern Area Champion
"Difficult one, but for me Chisora just needs a bit of luck on his side with the judges. I say Chisora by KO – I love him!"
