Predictions for Derek Chisora vs David Price
Derek Chisora will face David Price at The O2 on Saturday October 26, live on Sky Sports Box Office in the UK and DAZN in the US.'WAR' Chisora (31-9, 22 KO’s), who was scheduled to face former WBO World Champion Joseph Parker until the New Zealander was forced out through illness, will now face Liverpool’s 'Big Truck' David Price in an intriguing British Heavyweight match-up in which the winner will cement themselves as a top contender in boxing’s blue-ribbon division.
BBN asked their trusted panel of experts for their take on the domestic showdown:
Ryan Walsh
British featherweight champion
"I think Chisora will win this fight, Price will be dangerous because he carries power (a get out of jail punch).
Chisora’s style won’t suit Price, he’ll get up close and negate Price's best attributes. His stamina is a huge factor in this fight, Chisora will set a pace that, on this sort of short notice, will cause Price to maybe be saved for another day.
Derek to win via TKO 7-10, the (exhausted) Price will definitely keep this fight close and respectful. The superior stamina will be the key to Chisora's success."
Erol Ceylan
Promoter
"My prediction is that Chisora is the favorite for that fight. I don’t think that Price will have enough time to make a good preparation, but he does have the the power to knock Chisora out.
If Chisora can press Price, then Chisora should win by TKO."
Raza Hamza
Unbeaten featherweight prospect
"I think Chisora vs Price is a very interesting match up.
Both fighters usually start fast and hard but seems like Price fades after a few rounds. I think that might be the changing point in this contest. Price will start good behind the jab and Chisora will try to land that overhand right. If Price tires, Chisora will land and potentially win by KO, however if it goes the rounds then I feel Price might steal it.
If I was betting on it I’d say Chisora KO 5-8."
Ray Askew
Boxing trainer
"I think, above all, this fight will ultimately come down to stamina. If Price can establish his jab early and use his feet to avoid getting roughed up and drained through Chisora laying on, then I could see Price getting his hand raised. If he his unable to do these things, Chisora gets the stoppage in a war of attrition."
Darren Surtees
Northern Area super-lightweight champion
"Derek Chisora to win this on points."
Jack Hughes
Southern Area title contender
"I think David Price is actually a very, very good boxer and is very underrated because of his questionable chin and stamina issues, he has all the ability in the world to outbox Chisora.
But having said that, Chisora starts fast, Price crumbles under the pressure and gets sparked out in round two!"
Matt Marsh
British super-bantamweight champion
"Derek Chisora beats David Price within six rounds. Once Chisora lands heavy on Price, it'll be all over."
Paul Stevenson
Head Coach at Everton Red Triangle
"This is an interesting pairing, as they’re very closely matched. They both came in at 18st 5lb for their last fights, Chisora is 35-years-old, Price 36, and both have big power. At this stage of their careers they both desperately need the win to move forward towards the rich pickings at the top of the heavyweight tree.
I think many will favour Chisora but David has an outstanding amateur pedigree, is 6 inches taller and knows how to use it and remains one of the hardest hitting heavies out there. Plus he’s boxing with a relaxation and confidence that was missing earlier in his career.
I’m going to go with David Price on this one, I think he can get to Chisora around the midway mark and get a KO or he’ll keep Chisora on the end of things all night and win a decision."

"I think Chisora will win this by TKO in the first 5 rounds.
Chisora is in his best form since the Fury fight, he’s fitter and stronger with some good guidance in David Haye and Dave Coldwell.
I would have loved the Joe Joyce fight for Chisora as that could have given an even better night for the fans to remember.
Price is dangerous and can end it in any given time but I believe Chisora is in more peak fighting shape at the moment."
Sergio Michel
American singer, songwriter and boxing superfan
"This fight is everything for David Price. A man who was lauded as the 'next big British thing' in his prospect days, fell from that mantle, lost his way and was overshot by the likes of Fury who went on to the world stage and left Price far behind.
Sadly, though Price is a solid boxer, he does not have the physical fortitude to resist Chisora's constant pressure and punching bag-like resistant head. Chisora gets a TKO by attrition. However, if Price wins, this is huge and one hell of a redemption story. He will have finally removed the British gatekeeper from his way and opened the door to some American contender fights."

"I'm actually looking forward to this one. Both are coming off good wins last time out. Chisora with a big knock out and Price schooling Dave Allen.
Most people will fancy Chisora, it's in his hometown, hes been preparing for a fight. Price has two weeks notice. I have a feeling Price might shock a few people and get a win. Be a big ask as we all know Chisora can bang and Price's chin maybe not the best but I'm going Price either late stoppage or points win."
Monty Ogilvie
Scottish Area title contender
"I think Price wins on points. Boxes behind a long jab and avoids the rushes of Chisora to win a unanimous decision."
Jordan Neild
BBN Writer
"I fancy David Price here. In his last fight, he finally displayed the boxing ability that saw him capture an Olympic medal as an amateur and wasn't completely reliant on his power. If he can display that ability again whilst always keeping Chisora respectful of his power, he will cause all sorts of problems. In order for Chisora to win, I think he needs to set a high tempo and have a game-plan that keeps Price working, mentally as well as physically and with his training situation unclear after a split with Dave Coldwell, I am not sure how well prepared Chisora will be coming into this.
It's a great fight and it's very hard to call but I fancy Price to win and if the knockout comes, I think he will take it, but Chisora is a tough man and I expect another disciplined performance from David Price and can see him taking this one on points."
Joe Neale
Boxing Matchmaker
"Leaning towards a Chisora late stoppage with him having the longer training camp. Price is coming off a good performance, but I think the money was probably too good to turn down."
Steve Wood
Promoter, VIP Promotions
"It is a great fun fight this and although not what I would class as PPV, certainly one that interests me.
In simple terms, it is a step up from David Allen for big Pricey but the contest is the same, if he keeps it long and outboxes him, he wins, but if Chisora gets close and lands a big shot, then he wins . The vulnerability of David makes him must-watch TV and I really hope he delivers and wins, but you can never be sure!!"
Ben Day
Southern Area super-lightweight champion
"I have Chisora winning this, maybe by knockout. Price has an amazing jab but, for me, he’s a bit of a hit and miss and chisora teaming up with David Haye has been a great move for his career."
Bolu Kareem
Middleweight debutant
"I honestly believe Derrick Chisora has what it takes to knock out David Price."
Ace Adam
Middleweight debutant
"Derek via 5th round KO."
